After living in CR for 10yrs, we FINALLY visited here (yea, we need to get out more lol!) and LOVE IT! It's a small house, original hardwood floors, the living room has been turned into a larger event room table for big groups, the back area, though tight, is VERY comfy! There's a huge wall of windows, as if you're in a sun room, with old-timey fixtures to keep that 1800s feel. I took my Husband here for his birthday and it was just such a nice experience. Our server, forgot her name Ugh! (blonde, older), was so pleasant, right on top of us before we could ask for anything. AND THE FOOD, try the Beet Salad....and so far (we've gone twice), it seems the menu changes so I can't really suggest anything. But let me just say, if you're looking for a homey feel, friendly, quiet, comfy, no kids screaming AND GREAT FOOD....go here! This is our "NEW" place to bring our out-of-town guests...other than Union. :) I don't think it's good for kids though, it's just too tight in there and very quiet (they ask for phones to be turned off due to the intimacy of the space).

Excellent service, fantastic food, nice atmosphere. I am gluten free, and the menu is clearly marked with lots of good options. Will definitely go back.

Great atmosphere, staff, and food. The food has always been fresh and beautiful. Great interior and a lovely courtyard for warm nights. Great location. One of our favorites for fine dining in castle rock.

We just finished an excellent celebration dinner at Augustine Grill! High quality ingredients, delicious food, comfortable and upscale atmosphere, very good service. Approachable wine list with good by-the-glass options. Our waitress, Kye, was attentive with good suggestions on the menu and made us feel welcome and valued. I had the tomato basil soup, scallops and risotto, and brownie ice cream dessert. First: the soup. I'm so glad I got the bowl. I was tempted to get a second bowl. It had a hint of sherry, maybe? Delicious. Excellent sourdough baguette too. The scallops. Three large scallops on a bed of cheesy risotto with wilted arugula. Absolutely excellent. I did need to salt it a bit, and the risotto was more than al dente, but it all worked. Surprisingly, the bowl was chipped and cracked in two places -- I included a picture -- so jarring given the overall quality of the restaurant. But the contents, I have no complaints about. Husband's surf and turf had two shrimp and two beef medallions, very tasty. The "mo better brownie" and coffee were delicious. Walnuts throughout. Completely tasty. We left full but not stuffed, very happy with the meal and satisfied with the price. $111 plus tip for one soup, one salad, two entrees, two coffees, two desserts.

This place is beautiful, like gorgeous. We sat out back and the garden is just breathtaking in mid-summer. But, the hostess or owner or whoever she was that ok'd us to get a table was really not friendly. She was rude in sort of an endearing way though, if that makes sense. She rolled her eyes that we hadn't made a reservation even though it was 1pm on a Thursday and didn't even mention the fact that we had a baby with us. She assumed that the baby would be fine in her stroller (which she was) and I didn't dare ask about a high chair. Luckily for them, the food was delicious. So they get 3 stars.

Best restaurant in Castle Rock . Wonderful food and an amazing back patio and garden . I had my rehearsal dinner here and I was so impressed .

I have eaten at St. Augustine Grill about 4 times now. I absolutely love the food! The servers are always kind and knowledgeable The restaurant is very clean and orderly. It's so much fun sitting out on the patio in the summer with the flowers and smells all around. Anna Marie, the business owner is a doll she takes care of people so well. She has the biggest heart and the most beautiful smile! I highly recommend this restaurant!

The food was very good and everything you would expect. However when we got our credit card bill several dollars had been added to the already generous tip. We contacted the manager who promised to take care of it. After several phone calls nothing has been done.

I expected so much more. Service was amateur. Food was ok but not what I would expect. Get over yourself and dial up he atmosphere. Good for 60 year old ladies in red hats.

Great patio and pretty good service. Food was underwelming, especially for the price. Liquor and wine selection leaves a lot to be desired. Bland.

I went for my birthday dinner on their very pretty patio. The food and service was amazing. The only disappointment was that I couldn't try everything on the menu that day! I hope to return soon

Good enough for lunch. Salmon with vegetables was a tasty choice, but on the small side for $12. Tomato basil soup was fine, nothing extraordinary. Outdoor seating among the flower garden.

Great & charming dinner spot without having to drive " downtown" Last visit, the place was packed and most of the staff appeared to be a rushed & little freaked out and discombobulated which made us slighly nervous.....tip to customer facing staff, stay calm, cool & collected and your guests will prob do the same, its not an emergency room, its dinner. Anyhoo, took awhile for our waiter to stop by, but he was totally cool and honest about everything (they were slammed, wait times, out of certain items...) which was fine, plenty of great food &wine left on the menu. The food and ambience was excellent- my good advice, invest in a POS system, you wont be sorry and it will pay for itself in no time. The best kept secret is the beautiful cottage garden in the backyard.....you almost expect to see fairies and magical woodland creatures, very lovely.

This is one of my favorite places in Castle Rock because the food is always top notch and the staff is very professional. My favorite place to get a burger or great salad for lunch, and their dinner menu is amazing! I had my rehearsal dinner here 8 years ago and the coordinator stayed on top of everything. A charming restaurant!

This is a wonderful place to go for a date night. We really enjoyed the food and the atmosphere. Very romantic. I would not really bring a family here...it is more of a "date night" place and I would be nervous with young kids. Older kids may be fine. If you are a resident or a visitor, Augustine Grill has delicious food!

Took my husband, daughter and granddaughter to the Augustine Grill to celebrate my husband's 61st Birthday. Had a superb lunch, made by Chef Jan Moller, formerly of Gabriel's Restaurant and Tuscan Bar. He made us a Special Ahi Tuna appetizer that was to simply to die for! Talk about ambiance and first class food at such a reasonable cost! What a lovely celebration we had. Thank you Mike and Anna Linney and our wonderful server, Jackson James Taylor Brown!

We recently held a family gathering of about 15 people in the courtyard. The meal and service were both wonderful. The live music made it even more enjoyable.

The place is nice enough and the wine list was reasonable, but the food was below average at an above average price. I went here for the 5280 Restaurant Week and was underwhelmed. I probably would not write a review at all except that the garlic mashed potatoes I had with my steak were exceptionally bad. Seriously. One of the worst things I have ever had in a restaurant. (The steak itself was fine but unremarkable.)

I loved it. Adored it. Would absolutely bring friends and family here for a special occasion, no question. Had I not been part of a murder mystery dinner party hired to work a lovely lady's 50th birthday party there, I never would have known it existed. So, I wasn't exactly a patron. However, I can impart some opinions on Augustine Grill, anyway. The staff is unmatched. The owner was so fantastic, and the bartender, waitstaff, hosts, and guitar player who roamed from room to room entertaining everyone were so outstanding, I don't think I have enough positive superlatives for them. They take pride in what they do, and it shows. The ambiance is incredible. The place is a little house on the main street in Castle Rock; I think it was built around 1902 or somewhere around there, and it's quaint and lovely. There are two dining areas downstairs, and another one upstairs. The patio is insane (in a good way). The only complaint I'd personally have was with the itty bitty stairwell that led upstairs. Nobody eating there likely had a second thought about it, but I had to run up and down the flight several hundred times (perhaps a slight exaggeration) because our show was on the main floor and our green room was housed in the owner's office upstairs. I'm clumsy; those stairs were somewhat terrifying. The food I tried was great. I especially loved the rumaki. Ramaki? Whatever. They were little water chestnut-like things wrapped in bacon. Holy crap. I also got to try the beef medallions with potatoes and asparagus, and they had the tastiest tarragon sauce on top. So delicious. A colleague said the salmon was spot-on, too. While I didn't get to drink, the owner raved about the lemon drop martini there, so consider ordering one of those if you decide to visit the establishment (which obviously, you should). Big fan. Yes please. Bravo, Augustine Grill.

We recently celebrated our anniversary here. We were blown away by the service. The food was well prepared and fairly priced. If you are looking for something that isn't a chain I'd definitely recommend Augustine's.

Nicest location in Castle Rock, romantic outdoor or indoor fine dining. Great for special occasions and dates. Excellent staff. Make reservations. Well worth the price. I take friends here often, and we are always happy with the food and service.

I have not eaten at Augustine Grill in years and I don't know why! We went last evening and had a wonderful meal. We started with escargot and although it is not served in the traditional way in the shell, the escargot were plump and tasty and the melted cheese and garlic butter were perfect on the baguette. I ordered the duck breast and it was juicy and perfectly cooked. The orange sauce was just the right amount of sweetness to balance the richness of the duck. The risotto side was fantastic - the flavor did not overwhelm the main but was the perfect accompaniment. My husband had the scallops which were plump and perfectly cooked. They came with the same risotto side. We could not manage dessert but our waitress said the creme brûlée was excellent. The wine list is ample and has a great deal of variety. It also has quite a few reasonably priced choices. The ambiance was great and the service was excellent. We definitely will not wait years to go back!

My husband I LOVE this restaurant. It is romantic, quaint and the food is incredible. This is FINE dining, so expect to pay the price for it. Everytime we have dined at this little gem, we have had at least one of the owners stop by our table to see how we are doing. We have always had attentive service. Be sure to try the lamb -- and the Millionaire's Coffee with dessert!

I have been a fan of this place since moving here over a year ago. The tomato basil soup is always a must have no matter what else I'm ordering but on this occasion it was less than impressive . Seems they have changed the recipe a bit with a new chef. Very disappointing. The waitress told the owner about my disappointment and I was told the the owner would come and speak to me but after 30 minutes she never showed so we left. I hope they go back to the original recipe on the soup.

Overpriced for what you get. I think this place is probably geared toward an older crowd, with the "tea room" ambiance. My steak was good enough, but not worth the price when I could get the same quality steak from Outback for under $20. On the plus side, it wasn't very crowded (at least when we were there) so the wife and I enjoyed being able to have a slow meal & chat.

Excellent food, intimate setting, reasonably priced. My wife and I both loved the Spinach salad to start, the spicy crusted almonds really gave it a nice flavor. I had the pork chop and my wife the beef medallions. Both were excellent. All around an enjoyable dinner. They are re-doing their menu so for those that may have been there before it may be worth another look.

I met some friends for lunch and I wasn't too impressed with Augustine Grill. My experience wasn't terrible, but wasn't great either. The place is pretty cute, which is the biggest compliment I can give. The menu was pretty basic and nothing jumped out at me as I perused the menu. I decided to go with the chicken salad croissant and figured I couldn't go wrong with chicken salad on a croissant...right?! Wrong. It had absolutely no flavor. The presentation left something to be desired as well, although I'm not really sure how to spice up the presentation of a sandwich with fries. A friend had a burger and said it was one of the best she's had. Service was ok, but I felt the waitress was the most attentive and friendly when she brought the bill. I rarely venture to Castle Rock for meals, but will most likely not return to Augustine Grill when I do...there are plenty of other restaurants in that area that are really good.

The Augustine Grill had excellent points, but the low points are very low. To begin with, the hostess who seated us was incredibly rude. She was impatient and curt which is absolutely unacceptable. We sat on their patio which had the best ambiance. It was absolutely gorgeous and peaceful. The inside restaurant seems stuffy which is to be expected of an old home. We had the beet salad which was incredible! Then we had the main course. Everything was over salted to the point of the rice being inedible. Two of us ate the escolar and got fish poisoning. To be fair, after thorough research, this fish has the highest rate of fish poisoning of any fish. That said, do not eat it. I will be calling the restaurant to let them know of this, so hopefully they'll take it off of their menu. Our service was patient, friendly, but lacking of serving etiquette. The dessert was fabulous! The mousse cake was divine and the bread pudding was spectacular. Had it not been for the main course and the rude hostess, this restaurant would earn five stars. Augustine has a lot of potential if they fix these issues.

Mediocre dining experience with this restaurant when we had very special guests in town, and upon talking with the owner two days later, she basically had nothing to say. It was very expensive, and I was disappointed.

We love, love, love Augustine Grill and come here at least a few times a year. The only reason I can't give it 5 stars is because some things have been taken away from the entree that I always order. The Augustine Duet used to be served with artichoke bottoms and asparagus but the artichoke bottoms have been removed and the asparagus has been substituted for a mix of peppers and squash I believe. I understand the economy has changed but I would rather pay a little more for the way the meal used to be than the same price it's always been with less than what it used to be served with. Also, the desserts aren't as delicious as they used to be. We asked about this and they said that they changed bakeries where they get the desserts from. It'd be great if they could serve higher quality liquors and drinks (draft beers as well) besides jose cuervo, etc. We love their simple yet elegant menu of wonderful meals to choose from. YUM!
